Retro returns... and all that jazz.
Although I live in Germany, I dedicate a huge part of my life to vintage Hollywood glamour and an whole era gone by. It's my desire to see the golden age and the pinup era of the forties and fifties brought back and done a certain way and it's my ultimate goal to keep the spirit of a time gone by alive.
I'm fascinated by the old glamorous Hollywood. I like to describe it as timeless, exciting and dramatic and I draw a lot of inspiration from old films and musicals of the twenties to early forties.
Another thing I love is old traditional classic pin-up art. There is something in the posed innocence of the forties and fifties that is so great. The colors, the stockings, the makeup, the hair... there's nothing around like it now.
I studied music, dance and drama professionally for several years and appeared in numerous stage productions in Germany. My main focus is singing though, and that's why I try to grab the chance to perform jazz standards and chansons from the WWII era whenever I can. I'm paying tribute to icons like the wonderful Marlene Dietrich who's one of my heros. I also spend much time recreating and choreographing traditional vaudeville and cabaret acts in the style of legendary dancer, choreographer and director Bob Fosse. It's one of my biggest wishes to get the opportunity to perform my own vaudeville act in the U.S. someday, helping to revive an almost lost treasure of American theatre and entertainment history.
I'm currently taking a break from my stage career to train as a graphic artist and designer for print and digital media. I've always loved to be creative and screen and print design fits me and my interests beside show bizz really well.
