About Me

DevilDog Studio is Dave Parker - photography, illustration, design

Why DevilDog? As a child my favorite films were Hammer Productions - you know, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee. Wolves in those films were DevilDogs or Hounds of Hell. Being a child of the media, I guess it's my homage to Hammer.

I am an artist first! Some of my photography is shot to incorporate into my art; and the rest is shot as an attempt at art. Being as aesthetics and personal opinion weigh so heavily on one's interpretation of art, I don't expect anyone will like everything I've done; I just hope something strikes a chord with most. I don't just shoot models; that's only what you see here.

I believe any model can benefit from shooting with me. Each shoot is different in that it is a collaborative effort between myself and the model. Your ideas and concerns are just as valid as mine. Our goals are one and the same: to obtain at least one solid image for our ports.

My shots have always leaned towards pin-up; it feels natural to me. My tastes are more toward the lighter side of fetish - i.e. hosiery, heels, garters, corsets, etc. Also, I like to shoot up to implied for pin-up. (OMG! Implied nudity! Yeah, do your homework. A good percentage of pinup by big name artists over the years used implied and even full nudity. I think full nudity is a cheat, though. For me, pin-up is about the tease - what you almost saw.)

I am influenced by masters like Elvgren, Mac Pherson, Driben, Ballantyne, Petty and many others. But I am not trying to directly imitate their works like so many others. I am trying to bring the nostalgic pinup feel back in new works. There are a few here on MM who are masters in their own right. My goal is to stand next to them.

Is that all you're willing to shoot? No, my interests are varied, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Hell, look at my port. Themed shoots like characters and
